For three years Wesgroup Equipment has supported One Tree Planted to reforest the Western Canada area across British Columbia and Alberta. We’ve been dedicated to planting multiple trees for every machine sold by our brands leading to thousands of trees planted over years of effort. This last quarter alone (April to June) we’ve were able to contribute towards the planting of 1870 trees!

We know it’s a little hard to put into perspective what kind of impact these trees can make so to better understand how this helps our greater communities; These 1870 trees are able to help with…

1. Oxygen Source for over 3,750+ people – Fully grown trees can produce enough oxygen for you and another person to breathe. That means with the trees planted this last quarter alone we’re helping the equivalent of just over 1/3rd of Terrace BC’s population breathing in fresh air!
2. Providing Habitats for Animals – As much as we love trees, approximately 80% of wildlife depend on trees for food, shelter and other needs. Planting just one tree can help increase bird species from 0 to 80 in an area.
3. Reforesting Acres of Land – Reforesting is a key action for the growth and regeneration of our natural habitat. With managed forests in north America an average of 50 trees are planted per acre equating to over 38 acres planted so far with our 1870+ trees this last quarter.
4. Biodiversity and Farming – With many of the trees planted there are fruit trees included geared towards bolstering local farming. One mango tree after 20 years can produce as much as 300 mangos a year at maturity!
5. Cooling the Planet Surface – Ever wondered why it’s so hot to walk around cars? That’s because of asphalt heat and air pollution! By planting even, a neighborhood with a few trees can reduce temperatures by 12 degrees Celsius, WOW.
